Sickness Policy

Rationale: To prevent the spread of infection and infectious diseases to staff and children at Small Fry.  To maintain a happy and well educational and care giving facility.

Any child suffering from the following illnesses will not be able to attend the centre.

  • Conjunctivitis
  • Green runny nose
  • Vomiting or Diarrhoea (within 48 hours after last bout)
  • School sores
  • Any infectious diseases i.e. measles, mumps, chicken pox etc.
  • Children with temperature over 37.5*

Children who are on anti biotics must not attend the centre until they have been on the anti biotic for 48 hours, and only then if they are well enough.

Children will NOT be given Paracetemol or any other temperature moderating medicine at Small Fry.

It is at the discretion of the person responsible whether or not a child is well enough to attend on the day.

Children who become ill at the centre will need to be collected IMMEDIATELY.  We are unable to care for ill children.  We have an isolation area where the children will be kept if necessary until they are picked up.  If their condition becomes urgent we will call an ambulance and any costs associated will be the parents responsibility.

Fee policy

Rationale:  Parents should be fully aware of the costs involved in using the Centre and the conditions and criteria involved in setting and applying payment of fees.

Objectives: There is a system in place for the disclosure of rates and policies for parents.  Parents and staff understand the fee policy.

Procedures:

  • Fees are to be paid at least one week in advance.
  • Fees can be paid weekly or fortnightly.
  • Fees are to be paid by automatic payment.
  • Lateness in payment of fees will incur a 10% penalty charge on the amount outstanding.  If fees continue to be late then the child will be removed from the roll.
  • Full fees are payable for statutory holidays.
  • Arriving late to collect a child will result in late fees @$20.00per 5 minutes or part there of.
  • ABSENSES:
    • Holidays: 1st week full fees, then 1/3 fees for following two weeks, then full fees there on in.
    • Sick: 5 days 1/3 fees per year, parent/guardian must phone centre before 7.30am of the day absent.
    • Fees are fully payable for public holidays.
    • Fees are not payable over the two week centre closure at Christmas time.

You pay for your child’s space on the roll, not for attendance.
