We are a family owned child care centre that was launched by my parents in 1990.

The idea of opening up a childcare centre was in response to me returning to work and needing to place my 9 month old baby into childcare. 

My mother at the time was working in a larger childcare centre and was ready for a new challenge.  So my parents decided to  open up their own childcare centre and they named it Small Fry Nursery.  My parents focused on creating a childcare centre which was aimed at enhancing the childrens well being and families well being.  Creating a small centre means that the children and the children's families all feel welcome and  we get to know each child well.

In 2006 My parents were ready to retire and this was a fantastic opportunity for my husband and I to takeover and keep the centre in the family.

Small Fry is a small centre which aims at creating a home like atmosphere with all the facilities of a larger centre.  We maintain low numbers and our licence is capped at 20 children in any one session.  This means that there is a calm, quiet environment which enhances the childrens well being and educational opportunities.

We also offer:

• nutritious meals often using vegetables from our garden which the children help to maintain
